Many dashboards fail quietly. They render, they refresh, and they still mislead because the metric labels do not match how branches count work. Field metric mapping exists to catch that gap before design work begins.
On a typical Glowworkcore visit in Greater Bangkok or the Eastern Seaboard, we walk the floor with a supervisor, photograph temporary wall charts, and ask how yesterday’s numbers were assembled. The answers often reveal parallel definitions for the same KPI name.
Those notes become a metric dictionary: owner, source, refresh cadence, and known blind spots. Only after that dictionary is agreed do we sketch regional views. Boards then receive language that branch staff already recognize.
If you are tempted to skip field visits to save a week, weigh that against a quarter spent arguing about whether “completed” includes rework. The cheaper path is usually the one that starts on the branch floor.
